In the poem Thanatopsis William Cullen Bryant was saying that you don't always have to fell down about something. No matter what goes wrong in your life think positive about it say for example you and your boyfriend broke up that doesn't mean that you walk around looking sad all the time cheer and find you a happy place because maybe it just wasn't meant to be for you all to be together. And when you get ill don't get sad and start thinking about death but think about getting better think about all the happy things that your are going to do when you get better.
What makes it romantic-
Their sharpness, ere he is aware. When thoughts Of the last bitter hour come like a blight Over thy spirit, and sad images Of the stern agony, and shroud, and pall, And breathless darkness, and the narrow house, Make thee to shudder, and grow sick at heart
